Breakthroughby *tarorae

Traditional Art / Drawings / Political

Another piece for my art show. I put this under traditional, because aside from the slapped in bg colour, the rest of it was done with traditional media - faber castell grey scale brush tips, laurentian pencil crayons, and mechanical pencil.

Breakthrough.

And to quote portions of the immortal genius that is Queen:

"Breakthru, these barriers of pain
Breakthru, to the sunshine from the rain

If I could only reach you
If I could make you smile
If I could only reach you
That would really be a breakthru

Make my feelings known towards you
Turn my heart inside and out for you now
Somehow I have to make this final breakthru..."

P.S. I love drawing hands. :3

I might have cropped it higher and had a "sea of hands" along with the entrapping ones. but still amazing piece.

I was working with 8.5 x 11 paper, so I don't think I would have been able to do a sea of hands to any degree of detail.

funny about this one. i was going to set it to print, but it's too close to the bleed edge to be printable in this form. i'd have to slap a border on it in order to get it to print.
