Tread Carefullyby *tarorae

Traditional Art / Mixed Media / Fantasy

Here is the finished piece called Tread Carefully.

In Tirivahn in Ul-Zaorith, they have a lot of supersticions about interferring with the work of the Gods. When parting, traveling or beginning a task they don't say 'good luck', they say 'Tread carefully'.
Stepping on swirling leaves is said to be stepping on the playful hands of the wind god.
Walking through or otherwise destroying a spider's web is said to destroy someone's dream and twist it into a nightmare.
Here is depicted Wipo, the Tirivahni Goddess of Spiders. She rules over the Winter World, Muniloria from whence life began and weaves dreams for each sleeping person in the world in the form of spider's webs.
Rarely depicted in her avatar form, Wipo is severe, austere, elegant and yet intimidating.

This piece will be on sale at the art show for $350.

Materials: chicken feathers, waffle spandex, leather, organza, taffeta, interfacing, acrylic paint, white glue, rice paper, cardstock, staedtler 0.7,0.1,0.05, faber castel grey scale pens, computer paper, markers, cotton, grey stock paper, white jelly roller, exacto knife, various pens.

This has not sold yet! I had it in a consignment store, so it wasn't at the convention, but its listing period is up, so I'll be bringing it home this weekend. I will be posting it up on Etsy.

I don't think i -can- frame it, it's all coming off the edges of the canvas.
I will need to wire hang it though.

Well, you'd need a much bigger field to mount it on, I admit.. but it will be very delicate.

i don't know, i like that her dress falls out of frame. I feel that effect would be lost if it was framed.
