Resolutions for 2008:
1. Finish editing LotQ.
2. Work on composition and backgrounds.
3. Complete more personal art pieces.
Well, a lot has changed this year, so far. I would say, when the books are all balanced at the finish line, it's all for the best.
My lady and I parted ways after nearly 6 years together. I hope that we are able to remain friends for the remainder of our lives, because there's a part of my heart that will always love her, and I truly wish her all the best in her continued growth. I know she doesn't read this, but love for her anyways~
This means that she's moving out, and that means I've been cleaning like a mad fiend. I've been going through all my old stuff, getting rid of old crap I don't need, and rediscovering some old doodles and treasures. I've also been reading more Guy Gavriel Kay which always inspires me to write, and all of that in combination with my boyfriend inspiring me has been cause for a great deal of inspiration.
I've nearly completed Chapter 22 which has been taking me an inordinately long time. I'm not in a difficult part at the moment, and yet it still seems to be taking me a while to edit, rewrite, expand and rearrange aspects of this leg of the tale. Incidentally, it's one of my favourite scenes in the novel.
In commissions, I've been good about catching up on old things, and have actually managed to -almost- clear out my To Do list, which is good, because I've been dying to colour an old piece of lineart that I've been holding offf colouring until I felt I could do it justice. And now, armed with muse-juice galore and an infusion of the extremely talented and wonderful One-Vox's tutorials, I have an idea of how to achieve the image I've got in my mind's eye.
There's honestly so much I would need to type out to really portray all that's happened in this last span of time - but then this journal would turn into a philisophical journey, rather than a quick update, and well... It'd take too much explanation. If you're really that interested in my thoughts on the matter, just ask me, and I'll share.
