Hello all my fine people!
I have been quiet in my uploads for a few reasons and I thought I'd give a little update for those wondering why:

Firstly, I've been working on the bonus comic, entitled Drumming Song, which features Grenade and Shield's backstory. I've been working on finding a printer for the Blade Paper Doll set, and doing the corresponding art. I've been working on formatting 86 pages and getting the rest of the bonus content decided. I've been working on the art for the new Tshirt design. I've also been working on a Tarot card (the Cabin Boy of Swords) because it has also been accepted to a collaborative art project called 78 Tarot, which features a different artist for each card.
Unfortunately, I'm still waiting on the folk who are producing my fundraiser video, so I have not been able to launch the fundraiser. I posted a question about whether or not I should start the fundraiser without it, on my facebook page, but didn't receive any replies, so I figured I could ask here. For those of you who have supported the print volume before, you already know the drill - but for those new readers that wanted to get print volumes: would the lack of a video (relying only on images and type at this point) be a detriment to your supporting the print of Chapter 3?
The other problem we've been having is to try and get the 3D model for Shrapnel's brass medallion to render properly for the 3D printing process. Does anyone out there know anything about 3D printing models, or Shapeways? I'd really appreciate some help if anyone can troubleshoot the problems we've been having...

Secondly, I have been working with my friends to start up a production studio called Soulforge. As you saw a while ago, I've been working on a boardgame called TwinGear. I've been in negotiations with a manufacturer to produce the game, have been getting playtest feedback from a few events, and am working on all of the artwork, formatting, editing and planning for the game. There are other things I've been working on with the studio as well, but they're harder to quantify. Needless to say, it's a very difficult thing to work 2 fulltime jobs and run a comic.
I haven't even had a chance to continue formatting and editing Legend of the Quill, my next novel, and the first to be published by Soulforge. I'm still stuck on chapter 4 of this epic, simply because I haven't been able to sit down and work on it.

Thirdly, those who have been watching my tumblr will be aware that my friend is graciously moving across the country to come live with me. This comes on the heals of my separation from my husband last year and the subsequent inability for me to pay my mortgage or keep my house unless I do something drastic. Since I've still not worked up the desperation to pursue a career in prostitution, a roommate seemed like a smarter option. So, I've been trying to get things ready for her and have been also trying to plan the upcoming conventions (in a few weeks! my costume is STILL not done!).
And then I entered a contest held by VANAS - the Vancouver Animation School and won first place - which means a fully paid scholarship to their Writing for Animation course which starts next week! I'll be doing a 3 month crash course in script writing, which I feel will strengthen my comic writing as well, especially for future endeavours like writing comics and hiring an artist to illustrate, radio plays, and proposals for animated series.
Now, it's been a long time since I was last in school, and I've never done correspondence courses before, so this should be interesting to say the least. I do hope everyone will have patience with me over these next three months as I try to juggle everything. I will be slower to finish things, since I'll have less time, but please know, I'm still working on everything as quickly as my growing need for sleep allows.

And for those of you in Victoria - I've joined the Victoria Writers' Group and have been giving workshops (for free!) with them on a variety of writing topics. Last month I did World Building. This month (next Monday, 24th) I'm doing Character Development Tips. For those that would like to come to a 3 hour workshop and mull some ideas with some very clever, cool people - I invite you to join us! It's at 6:30 at the Atrium building on Yates. It's free, as I said, and I'll have handouts for the first 20 people. Bring paper and writing implement to take notes and get ready to stir-up your muse!

There is a lot of good in my life right now. I just hope I can rise to the challenges and become all the better for it.
