Description

Maldahgah – God of Destruction and Strife – Ssajac or Nusala/Suoro – Base desires, war, strife, chaos, destruction:
In the Nusala faith, Maldahgah was the first drop of blood to fall from the Goddess Nusir when she was giving birth to the Elemental Gods. In total, seven drops of blood were said to have fallen from the goddess and that each sprung up as a Dragon God. In the Nusala faith the number one is said to hold the connotation of chaos, instability, violence, turmoil and dischord as all are attributes of the first of the Dragons gods, Maldahgah. In the Ssajac faith, which was a heretical faction that broke away from the Nusala faith and is practiced primarily in the Dragon Sector in the east of Suoro, Maldahgah is considered the most volatile and dangerous of the deities. It is said that Maldahgah is supremely dangerous not because he is malicious, but because he is bored, and finds his only delight in the suffering of others. The Dragon Sector city dedicated to Maldahgah is the city of Marah, and it is their role to give him tribute every year during one week in late autumn. The festival, known as Teom im Suasyn or The Pain of Festivals, is practiced from the 1st to 9th of Katadan. The festival requires the death by bloody sacrificial rite of the most promising youth in the city of Marah. At the end of the year, votes are cast to name the most beautiful and talented of the youths. The chosen youth then fights stark naked in the cold against a crowd of assailants until exhausted and half-frozen; he or she is stretched out over a funeral pyre and sliced from throat to pelvis. The victim’s organs are removed one by one and burned separately over the fires to the God Maldahgah. Maldahgah is said to slumber underneath the foundations of Marah, and only rises is astral projections when summoned, while his massive body lies curled in sleep. He was said to have curled up there, at the edge of his country’s border when he slew Teomves, the Goddess he loved. It was his slaying of Teomves that ended the War of the Gods and began the modern calendar, and brought the first snows to Suoro. Maldahgah is now prayed to so that destruction or certain doom can be averted or postponed. Because Maldahgah is said to take pleasure in chaos and madness, he requires something in exchange to amuse him so that he will relent his wrath in causing turmoil. Of all the Dragon Gods he is perhaps the most powerful, but will only listen to Aynus when she comes to berate him for his shot-sighted mayhem.
Patron: Berserkers, warriors, red witches, mages, aggressors, conquerors, generals.
Miracles: Pitt of Hell (The faithful calls Maldahgah’s astral projection up to the battlefield. Upon his arrival the battlefield becomes mayhem and chaos. Friend and allies fight one another, as enemies destroy themselves. Tactics become useless, as does Terrain, Tumble and Melee; Brawl and Trample however do double damage and cannot be blocked by any but those faithful to Maldahgah. Pitt of Hell lasts for the remainder of the Task.) God Slayer (If any miracle has been enacted by any deity of any religion, God Slayer reverses its effect and prevents said deity from being summon again that Quest.)
